Sechs bier bitte

The title translates to 6 beers please in German.  Which means we are practicing our German as we are bound for Berlin today.  We got up early and thought we would head out for breaky before boarding a 6 hour 1st class train.  A tip to our readers, nothing opens early in Amsterdam.  Don't try to eat out before at least 8am and that is a push.  As inevitably happens when you are away from home you run into someone you know.  We were walking across a pedestrian crossing and a man also crossing from the other direction puts out his hand and says "hello Cummo". Turns out it was a guy called Wade that he used to work with at Tarong Coal.

We boarded the train which is not as simple as it seems as you have to carry on your 23kg bags up a few stairs into a train.  Then when you get into your carriage you then have to lift 6 x 23kg bags up into the racks above the seats. Apart from this it was a very comfortable way to see the country.

Once getting to Berlin we checked into our accommodation.  A recommendation from Jason & April Buchholz.  Great job guys the apartments and location are fantastic!

Off to the Parliament House for dinner which also had to be prebooked before we left Australia.  You have to go through security screening prior to entry.  Another great recommendation from Daniel Ow and Sue Bruce. Thanks heaps for this as it is a place not to be missed.  It was a spectacular place and we would have missed going if it wasn't for you suggesting it.
