You could not have asked for a more beautiful day, with the sun shining brightly & a cool breeze blowing. Let's hope it is goodbye to jackets & hello to shorts.
We visited the Duomo as well as the Piazza del Campo, the historic centre of Siena. This is where twice a year the famous horse race Palio di Siena takes place.
Thousands of spectators come to watch the 90 second race where ten jockeys ride bareback around the Piazza. They are dressed in their original colours of their district. The cobblestones are covered with thick layers of dirt for the famous race.
Then once again we went to Bar Boboli for pre dinner drinks, before enjoying a lovely dinner in San Gimi.
