We have flown into Salzburg today and Ruthy has already started serenading us with her rendition of the "Sound of Music" repertoire. Our boutique hotel is located in the old town and is simply stunning and the location couldn't be more perfect. As I sit here typing this with a wine in front of me I'm hearing the clip clop of horses hooves with the many horse and carriages that comb through this beautiful picturesque part of the world.
If you ever visit this magical place please appreciate the opening and closing times for a meal. It is almost as if as soon as the tourist buses leave that is when a lot of restaurants stop serving reasonable meals. Breakfast generally starts at 9.30am, while a decent meal can stop at 5.30pm. Drinks can take up to half hour to get any service. We had numerous Americans complaining to us of the issue.
